A fun and informative course for beginners or those looking to discover fresh contemporary watercolour techniques. You will go from a blank sheet of paper to a tropical paradise in an easy step-by-step process.

Step-by-step Process

Throughout this course, you will be following a guided step-by-step process that will result in a contemporary parrot painting in a jungle setting. You will be learning lots of useful watercolour techniques as you work including wet on wet, lifting, fine line work and shading. The extensive handouts mean that even if you don't finish in class you can still follow the process.

Colour

We will also be exploring the wonderful world of colour. How to successfully mix watercolour paint and how to produce a range of related but varying set of colours. We will also consider the value of colour palettes and how to successfully combine colour and compose an attractive colour layout for your work using accents and harmonies.

Templates

You will discover how valuable templates can be to give you confidence in drawing and composing. We will also discuss how to source and incorporate copyright free images as reference for your work. Your handouts will also include additional images and templates to encourage you to compose your own work from scratch in future projects.
